When repair is no longer an option
Anyone who commutes on I-95, I-64, or the Powhite Parkway knows how it happens: a truck kicks up a rock, you hear the snap, and a small chip slowly walks its way across the glass. Once a crack is longer than a dollar bill, sits in the driver's line of sight, or reaches the edge of the windshield, replacement is the safe call — and the one a Virginia state inspector will expect.
Your windshield does more than block wind. It provides up to 45% of your cabin's structural rigidity in a front-end collision and up to 60% in a rollover, and it's what your passenger airbag braces against when it deploys. That's why we follow AGSC-aligned installation standards on every job: proper urethane, proper prep, and a documented safe drive-away time.
ADAS recalibration, handled
Most vehicles on the road today — from a Honda CR-V to an F-150 — mount a forward-facing camera behind the windshield for lane-keep assist and automatic emergency braking. After a windshield swap, that camera almost always needs recalibration to keep those systems accurate. We take care of it as part of the replacement, so you drive away with every safety feature working the way the manufacturer intended.
At your driveway in Short Pump or your office downtown
Our mobile units cover the whole metro — Richmond city, Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover, and everywhere between. Park at your office near the Capitol, your driveway in Midlothian, or a lot in Scott's Addition, and we'll bring the shop to you at no extra charge.
Windshield Replacement FAQs
Will a cracked windshield fail Virginia state inspection?
Often, yes. Virginia's annual safety inspection rejects windshields with cracks or chips in the area swept by the wipers that distort or obstruct the driver's view, and any crack over a certain size in the critical viewing area. If your inspection is coming up, get the glass sorted first — we can usually replace it the same day you call.
How long until I can drive after a replacement?
Modern urethane adhesives typically reach safe drive-away strength in about an hour, depending on temperature and humidity. We give you an exact time before we start and never cut it short.
Does insurance cover windshield replacement?
If you carry comprehensive coverage, glass damage from road debris is usually covered, minus your deductible. We're happy to work with your insurer and handle the paperwork — or give you a straight cash price if that ends up cheaper than your deductible.
